Child Safeguarding Risk Assessment (junior parkrun Ireland)

This risk assessment considers the potential for harm to come to children whilst they are at a junior parkrun event. In accordance with the requirements of Section 11 (1) of the Children First Act 2015, the risk is of abuse and harm, not health and safety, which is covered by our general junior parkrun risk assessment.

This risk assessment is the result of the parkrun UK & Ireland Safeguarding Lead, and the parkrun Ireland Country Manager, examining all aspects of junior parkrun from a safeguarding perspective to establish whether there are any practices or features of it that have the potential to put children at risk.

It is important to understand that it is not possible to eliminate risk completely, but risks can be significantly reduced if they are properly managed.
